I wasn’t able to get an email from the author saying I could use the article

The article, 27 Top Character Design Tips is an easy read following a simple Topic sub-header and a few paragraphs explaining the the topic. The 27 tips isn’t a ranking but just good things to keep in mind when you’re trying to create a new character for a story that’s on your mind. A lot of the tips listed are simple and perfect for people who recently gained an interest in visual storytelling. I say this because as a person who’s had years learning and reading about character design, it feels like going back to the fundamentals and there’s nothing wrong with reassuring your foundation. And finally, it’s a good idea to treat this list (or any other list that involves creativity) as a guideline and not a rulebook. Art is about thinking outside the box and there isn’t a wrong way to express yourself.
One minor thing that irks me is the promotion of only Adobe creation tools. If it’s an affiliation thing, I completely understand but personally I would prefer being aware of free adobe-alternatives because the subscription model adobe has isn’t appealing to everyone. I’m aware that Adobe is an industry standard but this is an article that feels like it’s for people who wants to get started with character design and only being aware of a price barrier that stands between an artist and creating digital art can be off-putting for the people who don’t want to spend money on software.
But other than that, the examples that they give is nice for the majority of the tips given but some tips are missing some visual aid and that makes the flow of reading seem inconsistent. A good idea to resolve this and make it feel more personal is creating a scenario where the author creates a fictional series and follow the tips in chronological order and at the end of the blog, the reader would have a good understanding what the end-product can look like from the ground up. Or on the other hand, the author can dissect a popular series and show how the tips can apply to the creation of the series.
